2009 ASSE/CHMM Charity Golf Tournament

Over 140 golfers and 20 volunteers attended the 4th annual Wichita chapter of ASSE (American Society of Safety Engineers) and Mid-Continent Chapter of ACHMM (Academy of Certified Hazardous Materials Managers) charity golf tournament August 31 at Willowbend Golf Club in Wichita. iSi was a presenting sponsor for the tournament.  iSi’s Nikki Wagner was overall chairman of the tournament and Tami Hadley, Jeff Dexter, and Leann McHugh served as committee chairs coordinating registration, advertising/signage, shirts, and lunch, in addition to raising thousands of dollars in funds. Tammy Gonzales participated in registration and collection of payments and Mark Thompson also assisted in fundraising.

Proceeds from the tournament are given to a local childrens’ charity and this year Youthville was chosen once again as the recipient. Youthville is dedicated to the mission of “Giving Children Back Their Childhood” and is one of the largest, non-profit, privatized child welfare agencies in Kansas. The vision of Youthville is to provide the best sources of help to children who have been abused, abandoned, or neglected. Youthville's program areas include foster care, adoption, reintegration and case management, counseling, and therapy.

Players teed off for a scramble that lasted most of the day. There were many opportunities to win prizes, which included contests for longest drive, closet to the hole, and longest putt. Over $17,000 was raised for Youthville and will be presented in a check ceremony next month.
